Ceiling Fan Wiring - Too Many Wires?

I hope someone can help. I am putting up a ceiling fan on my outside patio. It can be controlled by two different switches from my house. One in the bedroom and one in the dining room. That's why I think I have extra wires. here is what I have:

From ceiling:
2 black
2 white
1 green
1 copper

From fan:
1 black
1 white
1 green
1 blue

I attached all the whites together, all the blacks and the blue together, and the green and copper together. Three connections in all. However, the light does not turn off. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

There are several ways the 3 way switches can be wired up. Before I try to figure yours out, I would like you to reassure me that there was a light there that did turn on and off with either switch.

Yes, we were able to turn the light off on on with either switch. Actually it was the same exact fan/light. A friend put it up months ago. We took it down to do some work and can't remember how it was wired. Thanks.

Not sure about that green unless it's a grounding jumper to the light box..anyway like Labman said there are different ways to wire up 3 way circuits. Is there a 3 wire (black/white/red) run between the switches? If so I'd say one of the black/white pairs in the ceiling is the feed in which case the white of the feed would be the neutral for the light and fan and the black of the feed would either go to the remaining black or the remaining white. The black feed wire should go to the remaining white wire but sometimes people wire it up to the other black and use the white as the switch leg to the light/fan. Anyway good luck with the troubleshooting.
