ceiling fan switch

we have a hampton bay ceiling fan, the chain switch broke and we got a replacement switch at home depot. it is a westinghouse 77075. we need the correct wiring schematic for the switch. it is a 6 wire switch. please help

This link might be helpful, especially if you still have the old switch connected. If you've already removed it, the job will be much more difficult.

I learned from personal experience several years ago that ceiling fan switches are not universal.

Did you make note of how the old switch wired? Is your new switch a 5-8 wire switch?
