battery disposal

Hi there,

Does anyone know where I can dispose of my old used batteries. I know you are not suppose to just put them in the garbage.

Some stores also accept old batteries.

tickle agrees: thats okay maybe where you are, but you dont know where this person is from. I cant take my old battery to any store here in Ontario. If he is talking about car batteries, then the mechanic disposes them safely.

Here is a website to help find recycle locations:

ehso - links to additional information

I entered Boston, Mass as an example and found that Staples, Radio Shack, and Verizon accept household batteries.

I see my link does not work to the specific Boston selection, so you will need to go thru the location and product process for your location. It also will find locations in Canada.

I had heard that some Home Depot stores also accept batteries.

Auto batteries are a bit different, and will usually only be accepted by stores that sell them.
