I recently purchased a new mobile home in Ventura, CA.

The home was a "lot model" that was originally delivered from the manufacture and set up on a site, used as a model and then taken down and delivered to where I am now.

The Manufacture says that it was built to run on 100 amps - it is 60 X 27 and wired for air, although there is no air unit in it presently. The seller set it up in a park that is only wired for 50 amps and then sold it to me.

I constantly have my lights dim and flicker, the seller sent the manufacture out to fix the problem but then they found out that the seller had altered the home (removed 50 amps from panel) and said that is your problem!

My question is can a home 60 X 27 - no air, gas stove, gas dryer, gas water heater run on 50 amps? The seller is trying to tell me that it can but the manufacture says no, that it can't even with no air installed, that the size is too large to run on 50 amps.

The trailer fed with 50 amps instead of 100 amps is not the cause of the lights flickering and dimming. My guess is the park wiring is a bit worn from years of use or neglect, and there is a voltage drop issue and/or loose connections in the park wiring system.

A few normal lights and household appliances will not draw close to 50 amps. The AC will not run with the existing load , but there should be no problem with capacity until the AC shows up.

But why do my neighbors not have the same problem that I am having if it is the park?

Perhaps there is a problem with the PARK's connection for your trailer only, or there is a problem with your trailer's wiring between the service panel and the park's connection for your trailer.

I agree with everyone below, your trailer's lge. Circuit's seems to run mostly if not all on gas which doesn't require much power so your good power wise. It sounds like there's a connection problem between the disconnect and your trailer. Have an electrician come out for about $100- $130 an hour + materials which shouldn't be any just to troubleshoot your problem. He should figure this out no more than a 1/2 hour which is still the above estimate unless he can fix it right then and there which might be more than an hour. Sound's like and easy fix unless it's a power company problem, than there shouldn't be any cost to you...
