Dear Sir, PVC insulated cable has got more current carrying capacity. Reason: Current carrying capacity of cable mainly depends on size of conductor first. secondly, the insulation type which causes heat to dissipate from the conductor. Natural rubber do not posses more heat dissipation characteristic but PVC (Artificial insulation)posses more heat dissipating characteristic. Hence, PVC cable carries comparatively more current. XLPE insulated cable carries more current than the PVC insulated cables. Moreover, grouping of cables, laying procedure such as in open air, under ground, in trenches also affects on current carrying capacity of the cable. Hope, you are satisfied with the answer.

Please provide the make and model numbers of the cables you are referring to.

Or provide links to product datasheets of these cables.
