I adopted my dog a year and a half ago and was wondering the best way to determine her age. Also, she's starting to get gray wiskers around her mouth and chin -- how early does that happen? Thanks!

my dog started getting gray at about 7. But the vet should be able to give you an age by looking at her.

I would hope you have had the dog to the vet and the vet made some sort of a working assumption. It is really hard to say. Wear of the teeth can be deceptive, My Aster is almost 14, and her teeth are still in great shape. I think because she has never had real bones.
