    Why does my dog cry
Why does my dog cry when she lays down with her toy. She is a very happy poodle (2 years old )and her toy is the same size as her. She drags it everywhere and every so often she lays down with it, grips its neck with her teeth and cries.why? I only have one dog.

That's how a dog would act with puppies, picking them up by the neck. You did not mention whether the dog is male of female, but if female, she may want pups. It may also be true if male. Best guess.

I agree with KISS, it sounds like a motherly instinct.

We had a male (suprisingly) that did the same thing, he would sit down and actually suck on toys until they were sopping wet crying occasionally.

We also had a female that would 'nurse' toys... she would actually push them up under her and try to feed them.

The female grew out of the behaviour and eventually stopped but the male did his 'toy sucking' until the day he died.

    Is your dog spayed?
Getting her spayed would certainly help if it is an issue with thinking the toy is her puppy.

She could be humping the doll.. my female dog can't have any toys that are bigger than a couple inches because she will hump it guaranteed.. try getting her spayed, and let her play with smaller toys
