| It was my plan to get her to the vet during business hours. I just wanted to get her through the night. And I did, thankfully. She was extremely lethargic, she was out cold and floppy. I could not rouse her. She was extremely hot so I knew she had a fever. I was afraid of dehydration first and foremost, but did not trust the pedialyte or gatorade so just did the best I could to cool her body as I would for my children. By some miracle it worked. I cooled her with a washcloth wet with warm water and eventually she came round. she crawled up next to me, snuggled up and went back to sleep. At 5am she was licking my face, tugging on the blanket and wagging her tail! She and her littermates will be going to the vet first thing today. Thank you for the advice. I am grateful that someone responded. |
