You need to understand the reasons I wrote what I did my dear! First off, there is no need for your nasty comments and language.
How do you think I knew that you have never had any experience with dogs or puppies, and didn't know how to care for them. For instance, what would you have done had the mother dog had birthing problems? I knew that your puppy had little or no hope, when you wrote, and that made me very very sad, for that poor little life, that didn't have a chance.
Instead of being angry with me, you should be thinking of this as a learning experience, and why people that don't know what to do, should talke the proper precautions! This is what happens when inexperienced and irresponsible backyard breeders, fail to have their dogs spayed or neutered, and let them breed, when they have no knowledge or experience in what they are doing! This is why these poor dogs have to suffer and die like yours did. Am I being harsh? YES! Do I need to be? YES! That little puppy didn't have to die, had you done your research. That $180 should be a good lesson for you! Although I'm certain the vet didn't charge you $180 for a Benedryl alone. I honestly don't think this is the whole story, but I'll take you at your word.
The fact remains. Had you known what you were doing, this would have never happened, and a tiny baby dog would not have had to struggle for breath. I'm sure there are other litter mates that you have now. I suggest you start doing your research right away, so you know how to deal with any other problems these young babies could possibly have. What do you know about caring for them? First off, do you know about whelping? That would be a darn good place to start! Do you know about nutrition, and the rounds of shots they will need before they go to a new home? Do you know the cost of all of this? You got off pretty darn easy with $180. Dogs are living, breathing, loving beings, and they deserve care. You took on that responsibility when you allowed your dog to breed with another. This is now your responsibilty to step up and do what is best for them all, and to make sure they are all healthy, happy, and socialized dogs.
Once again, once the mother dog has recovered from giving birth, have her spayed so that you will not have to worry about other litters dying. I'm very sorry for the one that did.
