    Lump on Shoulder
We were at the vet today with our dog she is 10 years old and has been limping for about 2-3 weeks now we thought that she just might have sprained her paw. Her x-rays came back fine, but they did find a lump on her shoulder, they are operating on it tomorrow to see if is is an abscess the vet said he has not seen anything like this before. Has anyone experienced anything like this before and what was the outcome

Unfortunately a "lump" can be absolutely anything from a spider bite to fat to cancer, so one persons experience may not be anything like yours. I would worry you would get all kinds of horror stories and freak yourself out.
Did your vet do a Fine Needle Aspiration? That is placing a needle in lump and pulling anything out, then looking under a microscope. You can tell a lot about what the lump may be. Also, where is the lump exactly on the shoulder? Muscle? Bone? Skin?
    How about size and ggrowth?
The best thing you did was go to the vet. Many serious problems can be taken care of when found early. Thank goodness your dog has you!
If you want email me and I can give you more info after some of the questions are answered.

Thank you for your support. However, this morning our dog passed the dr. gave her the Anastasic and we guess she suffered and heart attack and died. They believe that she has multipule tumors and she was sicker than we all realized.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...
