    New Puppy and pooping
I have a puggle who is approximately 3 months. It usually takes him hours to poop. For example, I fed him this morning at 6 am and still hasn't pooped. Any suggestions?

Now, is this a normal thing for him.. or is it that he just recently started to do this. Many dogs find their own "schedule"... for instance, my dog (who is a little more than a year old) eats around 8am... poops around 2pm... eats around 6pm... poops around midnight.

I'm OK with this as it works for my schedule.

If it's an on-going problem, call a vet.

One of the reasons it is easier to housebreak a young puppy is how quickly after eating they need to eliminate. As they get a little older, it takes longer. You can speed things up by walking him around or playing fetch. hold it and walk very long. I make frequent use of walking a puppy around before taking it in public places.

Pooping puppy [ 3 Answers ]

Our puppy is 9 weeks old... we have had her for a week. Unfortunately, she has been pooping in her crate the last 3 nights. I am not sure if this is separation anxiety as she sleeps in the crate with our other dog (they are both small and sleeping together has caused her not to whine at night). She...

Puppy pooping in crate [ 2 Answers ]

We have a 9-week old Golden Retriever. She sleeps in a crate next to our bed and is a gem: quiet, doesn't soil or pee. When we leave her alone (for only 2 hours maximum at this point), she has been consistently pooping/soiling her crate. It seems like separation anxiety or perhaps some form of...

My 10 week old puppy is doing really well with training during the day, but he poops (sometimes twice a night) in his crate. His last meal of the day is at 6:45 and he usually poops twice before he goes to bed at 11:00. We get up at 3 am to take him out and he has usually gone by then. He has...
