    If you believe in evolution (which I don't), the main stream thought is that amphibians derived from fishes, and more specifically the lobe finned type. Amphibians are really no relation to reptiles. They are usually included in the subject of reptiles because people more less lumped them into the yucky, creepy and unmentionables category together.
