Shih Tzu throwing up white foam
My family's 2 year old male Shih Tzu has been throwing up since yesterday. It is a white foamy substance with no signs of anything in it. He seems to be upbeat as usual. Just a few days ago one of our oldest female Shih Tzu had to go into surgery to remove a stone in her bladder. She to threw up this white foamy stuff but was also peeing blood. Right now were on vacation in AZ and are nowhere near our regular vet.

    Help!

EDIT: I also forgot to add, I tried to get him to speak but every time he attempted to do so he'd start gagging and throw up the white foam.

It could be any number of things, but its definitely something you'll want to have checked out by a vet right away. Even being out of town, you should be able to get an appointment at some kind of clinic.

My dog did that the other day and he had diarrhea but it was just because he got ahold of some hotwings and it upset his stomach. So thankfully it was nothing serious. If your dog doesn't have any other symptoms I would say let him be and see if it goes away on its own but if it gets worse or other symptoms come up then try to get him to a vet asap. Sometimes I think we worry too much and we can rack up really expensive vet bills for minor issues. I mean I only go to my doc for serious stuff not every time I have a tummy ache and I think sometimes we need to employ this strategy for our pets as well it will save us time, worry and money. I am not saying that this method is for everyone but it works well for me right now. Hope I helped

Is the dog actually heaving like he is nauseous or is it more like a cough that ends in a gag and spitting up? Is he still eating normally? Does he do this when he drinks water?
It could be something as simple as an irritated throat or as serious as a foreign body in his GI tract, or pancreatitis. If he does this more than a couple of days, I would check the yellow pages for vet clinics in the area.
