Room that smells like dog pee.
My sisters dpg always peed in her room and my sister never really cleaned it up. My sister is now moving out and I am moving into her room. How can I get rid of the smell of pee? Its been swept and mopped but still smells.

I am assuming it's not carpeted because you said it was swept and mopped. A few years back I moved into an apartment with hard wood floors. The place REEKED of cat pee, in the WORST possible way. I sprinkled baking soda all over the floor, and let it sit there for like 3 hours. Then I used a water vinegar solution and mopped the floors. It made a weird milky like texture on the floors, so I let that dry and used a specific solution for getting out pet odor, any enzyme cleaner will do, and re- mopped. Couldn't smell the cat pee ever again.

Now for carpet, the best thing is to rent one of those industrial carpet cleaners for like $30 from the Sobey's or Super Store and steam clean your carpets. But if that's not in the budget, the baking soda trick will work here too. Sprinkle, let it sit for a few hours, even over night if you can, vacuum and repeat if necessary.

Depending on how well the lino has been laid it's quite possible it has seeped underneath around the edges.
We have lino in our laundry and when the bunnies were in there temporarily they tended to pee in the corners, and of course, it all went under the lino onto the concrete.
Some bleach fixed that problem on the concrete... but the room did smell like bleach for quite some time.

vinegar should get rid of the smell. Mop the floor with it, being sure to saturate around the edges of the room and seams of the linoleum. If possible, shut the room up and let it sit overnight before rinsing off the vinegar. The smell should go away within a few hours, especially if you open a window.

Exactly what the first person said. I have speant hundreds on products, bleached my nosehairs off and spent hours trying to get rid of the smell. And the answer? vinegar and baking soda. One more thing I was told to do cause I think vinegar stinks is to mop it all up then when you are done put a small amount of DAWN dishsoap in a bucket and mop with that. It kills bacteria and leaves a nice scent.
