my puppy is sick

this is my first time on here and i thought that id try my luck.
i have a shi-tzu wiener dog mix that is 11 mos. old. she is current on all of her vaccinations. she is normally a very playful and energetic dog. thursday i noticed that her stool was liquid and my boyfriend had told me that she has thrown up. since then she has not eaten or drank anything until just recently. i have forced some pedialite down her, which she threw back up, to try and keep her hydrated. i couldnt get her in to the vet, and i dont know what to do. ally means everything to me, can anyone help me??? id really appreciate any info/advice...

thursday you noticed she was sick and now it is (depending on your time zone almost sunday and you still have not taken him to the vet. shame on you. sound like he/she may have a blockage as nothing is going in or coming out. perhaps parvo or some other disease. there is only one way to find out what is wrong and you know exactly where you must go!

Altenweg agrees: The dog should have been brought to the vet Thursday. Waiting and hoping doesn't alway work. In fact, it rarely does.

i could not get her into the vet because they they are not open on the weekend. i thought about worms but she has been wormed and i havent noticed any of the other symptoms of worms. that was one of the first things that i considered. she has also had all of the parvo shots, can they still get the virus when they are current on everything??

highly unlikely, that is why I was more concerned about a blockage. see iif you can find a 24 hour vet. even if you have to travel a little, perhaps it will ease your mind and stop your babys suffering

There are emergency vets and your pup needs to be seen by one now!

Yes, a dog can still get parvo even if their shots are up to date. Usually it's not as bad but it can still be fatal.

When giving the pedialyte how are you administering it? One tiny syringe full every 10 minutes will help her keep it down.

Really, this needs a vets attention, no one on this site can help you other then to give moral support. You need someone that's hands on, and you need it yesterday.

Let us know how it goes.

Good luck.
