    Puppy with bloody diarrhea
A week ago today, I adopted a 10-11 week old beagle/ jack russell terrier mix. She had diarrhea and was vomiting due to her food change, and after a few days of getting used to the food and taking her to the vet to test her for parvo, she was fine. Today, she had diarrhea again and when I got home from work, there was an immense amount of blood in her diarrhea, including drops of blood right after she had finished using the bathroom. It is not parvo, but she does have a bulge from where the umbilical cord was and has a birth defect involving her intestines but he said it could not hurt her. She also tested negative for worms. She still acts like she always does, full of life and energy. I was just wondering if anyone had any idea what it could be? I am new to owning a pet of my own and have never dealt with something like this. Any advise would be helpful!

There are many things that can cause bloody stools, some minor and some serious. I would be taking your dog back to the vet, prefferebly a different vet.

    I agree with Shaz.

Blood in the stool is never a good sign and it needs to be checked asap.

Go to a vet, but I'd get a different one.

Good news! The blood in her stool is simply from straining and irritation. No bacterial infections or anything. Thank you for your help!

Good to hear. Sounds like a diet change is in order then :)
