    Puppy Biting Dog
I need a little help! My 5 month old shih tzu is always biting on my 4 year old shih tzu! He bites her ears and her tail. He is not aggressive with her, its all in play, but the underside of her tail has lost almost ALL of its fur and I noticed she has a bald spot on her ear! He keeps ripping her fur out! Is there something I can spray on her that will keep him from pulling her fur... something that will not make them sick? We get on to him ALL the time and that just isn't working! I need help!!

There are some over the counter remedies to keep a dog from licking a wound. I would think that one of these might be effective. Something like bitter apple. Something similar to this product Cat Dog Bitter Apple although I don't recommend any particular retailer, this product or a similar product should work. You should be able to find it in your local pet supply store.

I remember seeing your question and thought I answered it, but it may have gotten lost. I am not so sure I would apply Bitter Apple to a dog. Dogs naturally do a lot of biting and licking themselves. Are you sure the puppy biting the other dog really is what is causing the hair loss? Perhaps you need to have the vet look at the problem. I see a lot of dogs playing together, and never remember seeing any dogs lose their hair.
