I have terrier mix who is about 10 years old. A couple of days ago she started to get what it seemed paranoia to me. She will run up and down the house looking around with wide eyes trying to find a place to hide and once she finds the place she will immediately run out of there and start running up and down the house again . All the while she shakes slightly. The other day I even found her in the bathtub (she hates the tub) staring at the floor. I don't know what causes her to do this because it comes on unexpectedly. I also have a 5 year old yorkie who is very close to her- maybe too close because he follows her everywhere. I will gladly accept any comments or help for this situation that scares me a lot when she goes through this. Thanks a lot.

That is strange. She has either had some terrible experience or has a physical problem. If it was a bad experience, it may fade. If it is physical, she needs to see the vet.

Yes, that is quite strange! Has anything changed in the environment recently? Has there been any type of stressful situation lately in your home? If something has changed in your dog's surroundings, that could be bringing this on. Does this happen during thunderstorms or when there is some loud noise? If nothing has changed, it might be time for a vet check.

She may have gotten fleas . Check her for that. My dog got them last year and she would jump up run and hide, move from spot to spot also she would tuck her tail down as though she was afraid. . Come to find out she had fleas and was very allergic.I think she was very confused and scared when they bit her and she was trying to find a spot in the house that would not cause her pain.
