ONE scared PUP!

I have had my 7 week old Maltipoo for 2 days now. She finally started eating this morning but she is still having problems socializing. When I take her outside she crawls in a corner or cries, she has peed a lot but she still hasn't went #2. And when I put her down of the floor she crawls under a table or between my feet to go to sleep. She also cries constantly when I put her in her crate, and wants to lay on my chest. I don't mind it right now, but I'm afraid I will spoil her too much and she will never sleep in her crate. I understand her being afraid of open spaces now, but what about the crate situation? Any advice?

The solution to crying in the crate is in the ''What does a puppy need?'' section of the sticky at http://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/in...tml#post251802 Be sure and read the section on housebreaking too.

Your puppy may not have had proper socialization by the breeder. Too many people knowing too little are breeding dogs and creating difficulties. Fortunately 7 weeks is a good time to bring the puppy into your house and start introducing it to new experiences. Relax, keep up a stream of cheerful talk. If you tense up, it will frighten her.

Your puppy needs to be meeting new people and other dogs in addition to plenty of attention from you. You must take great care to keep it away from dogs that lack good care. Your puppy may or may not be safe if exposed to parvo. If the mother passed immunity on, the shots will not take until it wears off. After that, one shot, 2 weeks before being exposed to parvo, is all that is needed. The usual practice is to give a series of shots hoping to hit the window between the mother's immunity wearing off and being exposed to parvo. See Canine Parvovirus, What you should know about
