Lethargic Puppy

Hi, My new 10 week old puppy is very lethargic. He hasn't eaten anything in about a day and drinks only a little water. I had him at the vet two days ago where she diagnosed him with an upset stomach and gave him IV fluid to rehydrate him. He was getting better yesterday morning then the symptoms returned along with not eating at all and vomiting twice. I am really concerned, but the earliest appointment I could get was tomorrow morning. I guess I'm wondering how worried should I be? Any ideas what it could be?

The worst is Parvo. But I hope your vet would have caught it. Another thing is, when did you get your puppy? She may just be homesick or a little scared and taking her to the vet and new places won't help her adjust. But I do understand you are very worried about her so I can definatley understand taking her to the vet. Another thing is does she have fleas? Fleas and ticks can be very dangerous to puppies. They suck blood out of the puppy and without blood the puppy will die. Just let us know what is going on. Good luck and I hope your puppy is ok!!!

Thank You so much for your response...We ended up taking him for an abdominal ultrasound to see if there was a blockage in his intestines. It was negative, thank God! The vet that did the ultrasound suggested Parvo. Knowing very little about it, I called the primary vet, who didn't agree, saying he hadn't seen a case in "a very long time". But anyway, Ivan (my puppy) is doing much better. He is eating (a lot) and starting to play and wag his tail again. He is still tired after short play times, but looks happier and not so sickly.
