I would take that baby to the vet, they often have groomers IN HOUSE and have that pup shampooed by a pro...w/ vet care close.

The puppy can be washed at any age...in a warm flea bath..the issue is keeping the baby warm and dry afterwards. Just no blowdrying... They should do a lot of hand drying till the baby is dry. Then for the ride home make sure the baby is wrapped in something very warm, like "polar fleece", (perhaps a baby blanket made of that material). If you can get someone else to drive when you have to go pick up the pup that would be best, so you can hold him in the blanket all the way home...

You also need to de-flea your house while the pup is at the vets being groomed. If you bring a flea-free pup home and there are any fleas or flea eggs in your house, in the pup's bedding, in the rug, in nooks and crannies - then your pup will have fleas all over again and you just wasted the money you spent on the groomer.

Talk to the vet about a safe, effective product. I think some of the good stuff such as Revolution, Interceptor, contact, etc. cna be applied to the puppy. And yes, you may need to treat the house too. ask the vet vet about a product that kills eggs too so you don't have a new crop in 2 weeks.

One of my close friends had a pup that came into her home w/ fleas...she didn't realize how the fleas spread EVERYWHERE...

She had an exterminator come and do her home, ALL the rooms the pup might of been in. All the bedding the pup was in she washed in hot water w/ a bit of bleach.

It's not as overwhelming as you think, even tho' it sounds it.

She just noticed that she kept not being able to rid the house of those pests...

To keep her dog flea free she put her pet on Revolution... There are other meds as well like Advance. Speak to your vet to help you choose the best one that works for your situation.

We live in Canada so we need to put our dogs on Revolution for 6 months out of the year to keep fleas, ticks, ringworm...MANGE, etc at bay.

Some warm countries need to keep their pets on those type of meds YEAR ROUND...

Let us know the outcome... Good luck.

you dont need to take him to the vets he is old enough at 6 weeks to be defleed fronline spray is the best result for puppies pump 6 sprays on to the palm of your hand and rub in his coat make sure you keep spray away from his face and repeat in 2 months time

before you treat the house realise the flees will die after 48 hours once the dog has been been defleed so before going to all the expensive of fumagation of your house deflee the dog and see what happens in a couple of days
