hi i have a dog and she is not potty trained but to get rid of the smell is easy dont cover the smell up with chemicals ...... u need to scub it out ...... use
viniger
bleach
it works and open the windows dont spray crap in the air that will make the air smell worse .... for carpets is easy use a sponge and dawn dishwasher soap and scrub the pee pee spot and after scubing fo 1 min leave it alone for 30 min and wipe it of.

I have to agree. THat Arm and Hamor pet powder stuff works awesome. Also they have this stuff made by Hartz, and it is a pet odor and stain remover. Make sure it is the Hartz one. All you do is spray the carpet, if you have a stain rub it with a clean dry cloth, wait for it to dry and then vacume. Works like a charm. For really tough smells you may have to repeat once or twice.

I second the reply recommending Zero Odor. Works great. On stinky sports stuff too.

I was told by my Vet that any type of carpet powder which is not vaccuumed up after a very short period of time can be inhaled by the dog and is very dangerous.

I don't know what warnings are on Carpet Fresh.

Yes all the ones I have seen here say to vacuum them up straight away.
Not only for my dogs health but for mine too, my allergies would go haywire!

i think the op is trying to get rid of the odor from the previous owner's dog, but if there still is a dog than it probably would be bad to leave it around. the pet fresh carpet powder is pretty much the same as regular deodorizer i think.
