How can I get my dog to stop peeing in the house
Hi my name is Claudia and we have a dog called jojo she is about 6years old, she is a collie cross springer spaniel. We have her since she is small, we found her in a old shed with all the other puppies but we only kept her and is waiting for me to say something and mind you she listens to every word I say. She is a very nervous dog but very friendly dog that can't her eyes of me, like the minute she sees me she gets very excited. She even never bark at the post man that friendly. My friends and family always say that she is the perfect dog everybody ones. We have moved into a new a year ago but the problem only started about 4 months ago. Jojo is all day outside in the garden running free she is hardly on the lead only when we go for walks, but the minute we call her inside the first thing she does she pees. When we let her in and let her lie on front of the fire she pees (she does not even look what she is doing, but she knows what she has done) She doesn't even smell for the right spot before she pees. I don't know what else to do, please can you help me I really appreciate it.

Hi Claudia, its plain to me jojo doesn't like the house because she smells other animals have been there and marked places too. That's what she is doing, marking her territory. When she realizes she has marked it all as hers, she will stop doing it.

What happened to the other pups, if you only took jojo ?

When you found the pups and you picked her, she must have bonded with you immediately. That's why she can't take her eyes of you, Claudia, its unconditional love. You might say she is protecting the place for you by marking it all as her territory and yours. The way I see it anyway.

The first course of action is generally to make sure that there isn't a medical problem. Drop a urine sample off to your vet, and rule out a urinary tract infection first.

    Is she spayed?
