Tosha is my 1 1/2 year old lab, when my mom walked out on me when i was 12 i got a lab to keep me safe when my dad worked nights and she protected me. Now my living arangments changed and she was left with my dad not being able to come were i am. My dad leaves her tied up in the back yard feeding her when he wants to( maybe 1 a week). She is starving, and never gets exercise or anything. She is used to running 7-8-9 miles a day. I love her to much to give her away, it wouldn't be a good idea anyways cause i trained her and she is trained to listen to me. Since my dad didnt want her listening to anyone else. I love her so much writing this makes me cry, but my question is......Whats best, give her up, put her down, keep her, or bring her to the pound? i cant think of never seeeing my baby again...think as if this as giving your child up..... i love her than i love anyone in my family....and my friends dont want her cause she doesn't listen to anyone exept me............... PLEASE HELP!
Emily contact a lab rescue in your area. Your dog can be re-homed and can learn to listen to someone else. All of my dogs were at least a year old when I got them.
Go to google and type in your state and lab rescue and see what you can find. Sometimes they will even travel to get them.
I know it will be hard on you never seeing her again but you have to do what is best for her and being tied up outside, with little food and no human contact is pure torture. In my opinion even death is better than that.

Is this the same dog you were thinking of giving away because she was gun shy? I thought you got her for competition? Or is this a different dog?
She deserves a life - contact a rescue. Not the least bit unusual to visit the dog (with the permission of the new owners) for a period of time ... or forever. I took in a dog from an elderly woman who was going into a nursing home and used to take the dog to visit her. Waited a while to make sure it was fair for the dog but there were no problems.
If she is truly starving you have to do something. If you love her you won't sit back and allow her to be treated this way. She will learn to obey someone else.

my dad got her for both. she was to protect me, and hunt.
My grandma(where i am currently living) doesn't like her she is to big and easily eats 2 ice cream pails of food( then she runs the 7-8-9 miles) so she eats to much and is way to active. Since she is cross with two different types of labs would a lab rescue take her? She hates being indoors, so the outside part shouldn't be the problem(just read that you guys think it's cruel:P) she wont step foot in a house, she just hates being inside.

What do you mean she is two different types of Labs?
You said your father is feeding her once a week when he "feels like it." DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! NOW!
Can't you advertise her to a loving home through your local paper?
Labs are a much loved breed, well in my country anyway, and she is young enough to be trained to fit into a new family quite easily.
You know that she is being illtreated so do something about it before it scars her for life!! Rehabilitation is not easy!
Your Dad may not be beating her or anything like that but a poor diet..no..a VERY poor diet can cause untold damage on the inside and out.
Do the humane thing and have her rehomed to another family who can care for her properly or like the others have suggested, a rescue shelter. Poor pooch!
