black spots on tongue

Hi

i've noticed that my cairn terrier has developed 2 black spots on the back of her tongue. She's 7 months old and in general good health with no signs of distress. Is this normal or should i take her to the vet?

Many dogs do have black spots on their tongues. the 6 or 7 month stage is a good time for your pet to have a check over, you could always make an appointment for a health check and ask when you are there.

Maybe this a trait in that breed of dog. Did you do any research either on the net or in a dog book specific to your breed to see if those spots are a normal part of the breed? If they are then you'll have no worries re: the black spots.
