We have a house dog that sometimes gets bad fleas. You can go to the stroe and buy a can of Raid fla killer it is safe for dogs and has dirctions on the back. We take the dog outside spray her with it and let it dry. Then I give her a bath with her flea shampoo and she is good to go. The can is only about $4 and you can use it a few times. You may also want to get a flea med to use once a month it will help cantrol them. But if you can't afford them because they are kind of costly the Raid works really god. Be sure to wash the puppies beddind or spray it as well. Hope I could be some help

Talk to your vet. There are any number of safe, effective flea remedies, Advantage, Frontline, Revolution, Bio spot, etc. There is some OTC stuff too, but I haven't had good reports on it. Once fleas are established in your home, you may need to treat the house and lawn too to be rid of them.

I am using Revolution on my dogs and never give them a bath. No sign of fleas in 4 years.

Haynle I have never heard of spraying raid on a dog. Please read the warning label very carefully before you put anything on your dog, esp. puppies.

Haynle, PLEASE, do not use the Raid Flea spray on your puppy. There have been known cases of life threatening reactions to it. It may work for klove's dog, but it may not be the answer for yours. You don't need to find out that your puppy may be one of those dogs that can go into convulsions from it. This is one of those products that MUST be discussed with your vet prior to usage. It is good for killing fleas on carpet and furniture but I would never use it on my dog. Please use the products suggested by labman. They all work and are specifically designed for use on your dog.

They are right you should ask a vet first. I was just telling you what we do. It does work for our dog but it may not for yours. Sorry for the missunderstanding.

I took my dog t the vet, with a puppy I would be very careful about what over the counter products you use. Some dogs can be allergic to fleas.
