Female Minature Daschund

I have a 5 month old min daschund.. she isn't all the way house broken.. she doesn't go to the door when she has to go... I constantly have to watch her all the time.. she does go in the house.. most of the time it is on a puppy pad.. but she still goes on the carpet too... will she ever learn that outside is where she is suppose to go.. or is she too old to learn?

There is material in the housebreaking sticky that should help. At 5 months, it is harder to read a puppy to know when to take it out. It is important to keep it in sight, and respond to it going to the door. Use closed doors, gates, or leash her to you to keep her in sight.

It is also important to keep the puppy on a schedule and a routine. Always go out the same door when you take her out, always take her to the same potty spot, and always ask her to go the same way. Eventually she will get it. Doxies are known for being hard to housebreak. But don't fret...before to long it will happen.
