Emergency Fire Sticker

I recently purchased a In Case Of Fire, Save My Pet sticker, and put it on our front and back doors. But was told that these stickers do absolutely nothing and are just a waste of money, is this true???

I hope not because my local Fire Department actually hands them out.

(Happy New Year to you and Rex.)

I also have the stickers on my doors and basement windows. Our local Fire department purchased repirators to fit over the snouts of cats and dogs in cases of smoke inhalation. So I hope the sticker will not be ignored. I live in a friendly neighborhood with lots of dog owners. So if something happened we could alert firefighters if there are pets inside.

I would not agree that the Pet Safety Package is a waste of time or money. My local fire department along with other law enforcement agencies have free packets available to assist in saving the lives of of our pets. My family has practiced drills to aide in helping our pets evacuate to safety , heaven forbid, if the need ever arises.

starbuck8 agrees: Helpful links. I've gone through the checklist before on different pet sites and am prepared, but good info for someone who hasn't even thought about what they would do in an emergency!

I got two from the fire dept., and extra's from the vet. If you are worried, call your fire dept., and ask them if they check for these things. I've never heard of someone actually having to buy them. I would also ask your fire dept. if they have the stickers, and ask them if you should also put them in other places. They may sometimes miss them if they perhaps had to break down the door.

I've got several of them in different places. I've also got big beware of dog signs (even though Niki is a big baby) so that they are aware there is a dog. Don't worry about them being afraid that there is a dog. Their gear will protect them, and they know that.
