Dying 9 month old Dacshund - Liver Damage

Please help. I have a 9 month old Dacshund cross (we think) who has for the last 6 weeks been extremely ill. After a castration he became very sick and developed an infection which was quickly picked up on and treated. Unfortunately a few days later he showed signs of jaundice and blood tests showed that he had liver damage, which they say was caused by the infection. This was all weeks ago and he just won't get better. The vets have not done an ultra sound or biopsy and my dog keeps picking up and then going drastically downhill. He has bad jaundice and is also anemic. I do not know what to do anymore to help him and I am desperate for someone to recommend something I can try (I have now taken him to the vets 25 times). Today he will not eat, he is depressed, lethargic and so under weight. He has been on drips, drugs and all sorts but nobody seems to follow this up or give me any real long-term treatment for him. I am so worried that he will die very soon if something does not happen quickly. I'd appreciate help from anyone - he is a young beautiful dog that deserves a chance at a healthy happy life and I cannot bear to see him suffer like this. Thank you

I am very sorry to hear about his troubles. I am afraid I can't give you much except sympathy. We have caring people here, but I am afraid we can't help him.
