17 week old daschund

I just brought home my first daschund puppie two days ago, she is very very shy. Is this normal and how do I help her relax, she will play for a little bit but all she seems to want to do is sleep, im I being a worrie wart ? Please help.....and how do I get her to know her name?

congrats on your puppy. I have one also. Mine slept a lot also when I first got her. I just stayed around her for her to get to know me and I just kept calling her name constantly. She knows her name, even though my family likes to call her different names at some point. She's probably still scared of her new surroundings. Once she gets comfortable, she'll relax.
