    Dogs/cats in house fire
Here is a kit that can be ordered for free from the ASpCA.ASPCA: Free Pet Rescue Sticker I have these stickers on both the front and back door of my home.
The reason for writing this post is there was a fire on my street today. These people owned a cat... the house 30 feet to the left has a dog. This could have been deadly for these animals. I informed the fire fighters that there were animals in both houses. The cat was gotten out safely and the fire did not spread to the next house.

Nice of you to post that bushg. However, it is important for people to check with their local fire departments prior to putting any stickers up. My local firehouse asks people not to post those stickers. The problem they are encountering is: people don't remove old stickers. When a pet dies, or someone with pets moves away and the new owners don't have pets, it poses a huge problem for the firefighters. They put their lives at risk searching for non-existent pets.

Ruby Good thought... I did change ours when my daughters mouse Zeke passed away. Your right I went and looked at a house & it had the previous owners pets listed. It's a Good idea to check with the fire department and to remove or update them. I have never thought to check wth outr fire department a lot of people around here have the stickers. But I will now.
