Dogs/2005 Zorro Movie ???

Did anybody watch the "Legend of Zorro" and see the two dogs that were in it?

At first glance, they looked liked dark colored German Shepherds, but then I noticed that one was dark brindle. I don't believe that brindle is an accepted color in the German Shephard breed.

Does anybody have an idea, of what breed they could be? I find them very intriguing.

Leafing through my S&S Dog book, I found a picture of a Dutch Sheep dog that is brindled. You may be able to find a picture at www.akc.org.

If it looked like a German Shepherd and was brindled more than likely it was a mixed breed. Then God only knows what they have in them.

Yes, the Dutch Shepherd is it! Although it can't be found on th AKC web site as it is not recognized by the AKC at this point in time. I googled the word Dutch Shephed and found several websites for this breed. They look just like the two dogs in the movie. Thanks much for your help.
