Dog won't walk with me on leash

I just got a 4 month old puppy. She stubbornly sits and won't budge when I try to take her on walks. Anyone know how I can get her to stop doing it and l walk with me?

when i got my puppy she would do the same thing. Just take her out in your yard and gently pull her around. She should get the idea that if she doesn't walk shes going to get pulled around.

There are much better ways to get a puppy moving than to pull it around on a leash. A young puppy has a very fragile trachea and should never be abused like that.

In may cases getting out in front and coaxing it slapping your thighs works. Treats can work well too. If that fails, try dropping behind it and run past it in baby steps while calling ''Go, go, go!'' in an excited voice. That is straight out of my Puppy Raising Manual and it worked very well for me with several puppies.

To let you know my to dogs are very healthy. There the happest dogs me and my famliy have ever had. We have never abused are dogs. We wouldn't pull are dogs around the yard, we would gently tug on them intill they decided to walk with us.
