Dog chow is carefully formulated to give dogs the complete and balanced diet they need, and cat chow meets the somewhat different needs for them. Your dog really needs to be eating a dog chow, and very little else. It will take a little discipline on your part, plus perhaps figuring out a place the cat can get to its food the dog can't. You should be able to have it eating what it should before too long. How soon, could depend if it is over weight or its eating is typical of a hound or a Shepherd. Shepherds can be a little difficult sometimes. May as well stick to what you are feeding now.
