    Dog wheelchair
Does anyone have a blueprint to build a good dog wheelchair? My dog is a Belgian shepherd and she weighs over 100 lbs. The websites that sell these carts want over $500 for a cart that will hold a dog her size. Any suggestions will help!

A rescue agency or dog training facility would probably be able to supply either, blueprint, directions or a less costly used wheelchair for your big dog.

Homemade carts for dogs and do it yourself wheelchairs for dogs

There are several at this link. Ozo's cart is a very professional one.

Also, you might want to join HandicappedPets.Com :: Index

    Good luck!

If you still need one, I have one for free. Used for a month for my son's German Shepherd (100 lbs plus). When you are done I only ask that you give it away free to someone else who needs it.

Hello there.. I don't know if you have found a dog wheelchair yet, but I have a great answer for you... I build them... and very reasonable... certainly not 500 dollars... I have a couple listed on Ebay under dog wheelchairs... A medium, large, and x large.. I also have a quad... I've started a website with a few pictures on it... Canine Wheels.com or I can send you photos if you contact me at [email protected]... I'd be more than happy to help you or anybody else find wheels for their furry loved ones. My chairs are the ones that come in 5 different colors and are made of pvc... They have been awesome for hundreds of dogs across the country.. check it out... Tracie

I know you aren't going to want to hear this, but my husband passed away in April and I don't really think that I could afford any wheelchair for my dog. Also, how would I get her into it alone? There is no one to help me lift her and she ways more than 100 lbs. Thanks anyway!

I saw that you had a wheelchair for dog. I have a great dane that has an impacted fracture due to being hit by a big truck. We cannot afford a wheel chair we had her for many years and cannot see putting her down she is so full of spirit. Are you still willing to part with the wheelchair? I will gladly pay the shipping. I just can't afford $500 for one.

    Greatly Appreciated

Thank you for the kind offer. Three months ago, I would have jumped at it! However, I lost my husband 2 months ago, and now my poor dog has to spend all her days and nights on the floor because I alone cannot lift her to go out and I cannot imagine being able to lift her into the wheelchair. However, Brteeyez is asking for the chair so give it to him as I simply cannot use it! Thank you again for the very kind offer!

Homemade carts for dogs and do it yourself wheelchairs for dogs

I not sure if you noticed but there are links for dfferents carts on here. Also above I reentered the one for a homemade cart.

Also I checked maggismoms profile and she has not been online since March 2.
Another thing you could try is to sign up for some freecycle groups, you can Google them in your area. You never know what someone may be giving away. Good Luck.

Thank you for the information. I have checked around here and there and my friend I are attempting to make one. At least something that will work until we can afford to buy one.

Thank you for your generousity towards doggie wheelchair. I am sorry to hear about the loss your life partner. I can only hope things are going well for you and your pets.

I was wondering if you still had this. My shepard has lost most of the use of his back legs and I cannot afford to buy a new chair.
    Thank You!!

    I really need one for my german shepard who is a hundred pounds+ as well. His hip recently gave out and I'm in Loma linda California. I promise to take good care of it and will definitely give it to someone else in need! {personal info removed}

    Sacramento:

Did you ever find blueprints for a dog wheelchair or find one? I've been looking for one, but they are too expensive to buy.

Do you still have it available? My friend has about a 90 pound 12-14 year Weimereiner who really needs one. Please advise.

Vickie, I know you want to help your friend, however, this thread is almost exactly two years old. Maggie's post is nearly two years old and she hasn't been back since. I highly doubt that she will be able to help to you.

Did you notice the link for Do it Yourself plans? I checked and the link still works.

Please, continue using older threads for information, but, please, do not respond in them. Since we try to answer individual questions, responding to an older thread bumps it up above those currently needing attention like your own.

    Good luck.
