My dog is eating bird droppings, should I be worried?
I have a female doberman that is 10 years old and recently whenever I let her into the backyard I notice that she is eating bird poop:eek: Are there any health issues that I should be concerned about  and is so how can I prevent this?

Yes, it's quite dangerous, in fact. We've had some very unpleasant courses of antiobotics over the years because of this. What worked for us and our dogs was to (a) clean up the bird poop regularly, (b) move all bird feeders to the front yard, (c) fence off areas under trees where there was always a lot of bird poop that the dogs could get into, (d) keep a watchful eye on the dogs and scold them when they tried to munch (they learned to avoid it after a while). There's no subsitute for vigilance.
