Is a mini dachshund a severe asthma risk?

I am a realtor and clients want to purchase a home where two mini dachshunds were living. How much of an asthma risk is this short haired breed? Does this breed tend to have a dander problem that might induce severe reaction?

One of the reasons that I got my mini doxie is because he is allergy friendly. However, he is a short haired mini...they do come in long hair. Which variety are the ones that you are talking about?

Barefoot, I have moved your post to the "dogs" board where it will get answers from people experienced with dogs. Where it was, Medical, would only get answers from people with experience with people.

Tuscany may be right that Mini Dachshunds are low in dander, but not so low they are used as service dogs as are Poodles. I would suggest a thorough cleaning of the house, steam cleaning all the carpets, vacuum cleaning the ducts, etc. That should clear out all the Dachshund dander and many other triggers.
