I have an 11 week old Italian Mastiff. We have had 2 weeks together (I took off work) and now I have to go back to work next week. We've just put her in her crate a couple of times when we had to go grocery shopping or something (always around 1 hr)... every single time we have put her in the crate she has pooped. She seems to roll in her poop and when I spy on her I see her pacing a lot and never really relaxing. Today I put her in, the plan was just to leave her for a couple of minutes and to come back when she quit crying. 3 minutes later the crying stopped. I opened the bedroom door to a filthy pooped in mess. 3 minutes!!! I don't know what we will do. I have hired somone to come in every 3 hours to take her out to potty and play a little while I am at work, but I cannot stand the idea of her being in a pooped in crate for that long if she does it right when we leave! I desperately need some help! I've read a lot about what different people have done... with drops and shrinking the size of the crate. We have made her XL crate just big enough for her to lay down in and curl up in... HELP!!
