| CJ wont eat A few weeks ago my dog seemed very sick so i took him to the vet. it turned out he had two problems. the vet metioned first off that he might have torn a ligament in his back knee. His second problem was he had an infection in his mouth by the back of his throat and a few sores in his ears. She removed the tissue in his throat and stiched him back up. She gave me some pain medication and some antibiotics. By the end of the week he showed great improvement in his attitude. But now the past week ive been having a hard time getting him to eat his food. Ive put milk in it and even ground beef but now he just laps up the milk or eats the beef. I read about Infectious Inflammatory. “This type of joint disease is one side effect of blood-borne bacterial infections. For example, Lyme disease is notorious for its painful impact on joints. In the young animal, infectious inflammatory joint disease affects many joints and can lead to an infectious polyarthritis. One very serious concern regarding the joints of growing animals is that if the growing surface of the bone is killed by the infection, the bone cannot get any longer. The older animal frequently presents with only a single joint involved but often has a concurrent infection in the body. One of the most common infectious inflammatory joint diseases is chronic peridontal disease. Other factors to consider are puncture wounds or soft-tissue truama, infection occurring at injection sites or post-surgical infections.” Is this a possibility? If it iss could this be why he isn’t eating? I started yesterday to give him a supplement with Glucosamine and a few other joint and cartildge health promoting medications. What else should I do? Please help a concerned mother. |
