Can you tell the dogs breed or mix?
I was wondering if I can find out what my dog is mixed with. Is it possible? We adopted a puppy from Animal Services and they said it is a Pitbull 'Mix'. I have owned numerous pitbulls in the past so I know the general characteristics. Animal Services has a ton of pitbulls in range from puppies to adults. They are all described as Pitbull 'Mixes' none are shown as full breed but they obviously are. Long story short... my puppy looks like it is a mix between a American Staff and brindle. But I noticed his face isn't as short and wrinkly like others I have had. More long and straight. However, my brother has a full blood pit with a similar face to this puppy's. I am just curious if I can find out if it is in fact a pitbull or if I can find out what other breed might be in his blood. Can anyone help me out? Is it possible?

You can, if you really feel like it, get DNA analysis done. This test will need to be done by a vet. You can find out more Frequently Asked Questions about Mars Veterinary . There is a different test that you could do yourself, but that one doesn't detect pits, so it would be pretty meaningless to do it.

I will also point out that brindle is a color, not a breed. Greyhounds, for example, are commonly brindle.
