BBQ Lamb sent my dog into nervous tremors

For the first time in my dog's life I cooked lamb chops on the BBQ. She sniffed the air and started trembling and whining. Then she ran around the pool and into the door. It took her almost 3 hours to calm down. She had never had any nervous fit before in her seven years. I had never cooked lamb before. Do you think she thought I was cooking a dog? Even when she came into the house she shook and ran into the bedroom and wouldn't come out. I aired out the house and put all the garbage in the trash and changed my clothes and she calmed down. I promised her I would never cook lamb again.

Wow. That's odd.

I've never heard of a dog having a nervous reaction to food.

I guess you'll have to stay lamb free.

Did you put something on it? Seasonings? Sauce??
Could there have been a gas leak on your grill?
Was it fresh? Their noses are very sensitive.

I'm going to be BBQ lamb in the next couple days (outside)

I'll watch close for a reaction.

Here is an old thread, probably before Alty's time: Yep, checked. Before your time.
