I would make an appointment with a third vet for as soon as possible. Listless plus diarrhea are the classic signs of parvo. If he has parvo, his only hope is to be put on IV today. It kills many young puppies.

If you haven't made it to the vets yet, then get there quick. I'm actually very surprised that a vet (much less two!) haven't yet told you to come in. I just lost a puppy to parvo. She contracted the virus at 8 weeks old and passed away at 10 weeks old. She was in the hospital for a total of 10 days (not consecutively) being pumped full of fluids and meds. Parvo is a very scary thing that can not be cured. It's something that the puppy has to get rid of on it's own while their little bodies are being supported by the ivs. If you puppy is being lethargic and his mouth is dry, then I'd be even more quick to assume the worst. I hope for both of your sakes that it is something else because parvo is a very complicated and deadly virus. Best of luck to you!
