I have just brought a 4 month old Havanese puppy 2 weeks ago. The first night I got him he did a gagging thing - I didn't think nothing of it. The next morning he did the same thing. Then I went online & did alittle research & it seemed like it could be kennel cough, so I took him to the vet and explained what had happened. Vet examined him and said he appears to be very healthy but put him on antibiotics to be safe (Clavamox - amoxicillin trihydrate). To make it short - my puppy is still doing the gagging thing and sometimes after drinking water will throw up the water he just drank & once threw up food. The throwing up water thing seems to be happening more & more. Can anybody advise? Thanks!!!! Very puzzled???

P.S. He has been dewormed 3 times - according to his papers & I take him out with a harness - not a collar!

Puppies tend to over do everything, drinking water (gulping) wolfing down their food which could initiate the gag reflex. I dont think the deworming has anything to do with it and I do note that you say you dont use a collar, good idea, bu the only thing a harness is not teaching him is staying beside you. Sorry for off topic. If vet has put pup on antibiotics, give them time to work as it probably is a decreasing dose.
