I want a divorce

I live in Georgia. My husband had an affair which lead to an outside child. We have been seperated for 6 months. We also have a 4 year old for whom he has paid no child support. I want an uncontested divorce because its cheaper, but he says that he won't sign the papers. What can I do?

I'm sorry to say there is little you can do unless you can convince him to sign. I suggest you hire a lawyer and keep a record of everything. Like if he give you anything. When and how long he sees your child stuff like that. Also you should try and get proof of the affair just in case he decides to deny the affair come the divorce hearing. I know this probably sounds really overwhelming but you will be glad you did this. That way he can't get away with certain things and it will be harder for him to lie.

well if he will not sign the papers you can't have a uncontested divorce , since he is contesting it. So you hire an attorney and file for divorce.
You also file for custody of the child and for child support.

Thanks! I guess I kind of knew that in the back of my mind. He left me with this little one to raise, loads of bills ( had to file bankruptcy), lost my home. We are living with my family right now. Lots of love and support but very little money for the 6-8k attorneys are asking for. This is the worst. There will be very little deny since he is living with and on the woman that he cheated with. He quit his job so getting a judgement for support will probably be just a piece of paper. Ladies, beware! Run if you see him coming!
