I am not changing my name back to my maiden name, so it isnt Miss XXX. I will forever be Mrs. XXX
My son's girlfriends cannot call me by my first name, so to them its Mrs. XXX. Ms. or Miss, doesnt cut it!
Its just how I will do it after being married for 37 years and dumped by a cheating husband! I am not a Miss, and Ms. to me was used by feminists who didnt like to be called Mrs. So Ms is out as well. I am old fashioned, only been with my husband and when I die I will still be Mrs. XXXXX
I have no idea why you are so hostile other than the 37-year marriage, cheating husband part. Whether Ms. is/was used by feminists is not the issue here. In fact, if you want to discuss feminists that would be a good discussion thread.
Your example doesn't fly - I'm a widow, I'm still Mrs. John Jones because I was married when my husband died.
You are divorced. You are no longer Mrs. John Jones. You are Mrs. Sally Jones if that is who you choose to be.
This is the legal answer and I've seen it addressed it Court. You lost the Mrs. "John" Jones part when you divorced. In fact, there very well may be another Mrs. John Jones.
