spousal support

i have been married 8 years to a spouse who had etoh and psych issues that i was unaware of. she was short of PhD and I RN. i am working and she isn't now and jsut taking full advantage of my working . her attorney is bleeding me dry

it appears that the court doesn't want to hear the why's just who has the money even if you really don't and supports the manipulative, unresponsible party.

i am hopeless and heipless in this arena all i wind up doing is paying legal fees for attorneys

i am overwhelmed, don't know who to trust

where is the concept of fairness and equality

depending on the state, the "why" has no bearing at all except perhaps in child custody issues.

The issues for spousal support will have to do, with how much each person earned while married ( tax records will be provided) and how much each is making right now.

So if you divorce and they did not work the majority of the marriage, you will be writing them a good check each month
