settlement in divorce

Can anyone tell me what are the rights entitled to each spouse at the time of divorce? both are working and have shared in financial front. the husband a bit more than the wife. so will he be entitled to take the bigger share of the savings? can the wife claim for an equal share? who will have to move out of the house if they don't agree on the divorce and who will get preference to keep the kids? Also how long does the court divorce proceedings take from the time you file your petition? ..... too many questions but need the answers too......

Almost all of your questions are matters that are subject to negotiation. Generally, the mother will be granted physical custody, but the father can be granted joint custody (meaning an equal say in their rearing) as well as generous visitation.

How long the process takes depends on your area, how busy the court is etc.

I would recommend getting an attorney or, if you spouse is agreeable, contacting a divorce mediation service.
