how can i find out if i am divorced i am not sure if my ex husband filed in arizona or somewere else

Did you appear in court or sign divorce papers?

ask ex to send you a copy of the divorce paper work.

And yes, unless he filed and told them he did not know where you where, you would have been served paper work and you would have had to sign them and send them back.

Normally, you would need to sign divorce papers or appear in court. Call the clerk's office in Arizona to see if they have any record of the divorce.
