do not want a divorce

My spouse wants a divorce and I do not. Do I have to agree to go through with one if he files? Thank you to any one who is familiar with this situation.

you may try and fight it, but in most places it all ends up in fighting over some terms. But if this is in the US normally if one party wants out, and can afford enough court battles they can get the divorce.

Why would you want to stay married to a person who does not want to be married to you? Get a divorce and move on with your life. Your marriage is already dead.

ladieedee21 agrees: I agree...Why live with someone who does not want to live with you?

In a marriage...there is a real love between you and your man.
So he asked for a divorce..why would want to continue with him?
How would you have fun or a good time with him, when he is asking for a divorce?

You could find someone who cares about you and wants you..
I know you could do it!
Good Luck!

Difficult to answer with a clear Yes or No as you didn't told WHY he is asking for a divorce, and if you think it would be worth trying to stay together.

You have 2 options. If your marriage is worth it, then fight for it (not literally) to stay together meaning you should try to get rid of the problems. Buy some books for this or see some counselor.

If you think the marriage is worn out and you just would like to keep the marriage, well, for the friends, meaning that you guy's will continue to fight all the time - then get through it and accept a divorce.

I had once a 10 year marriage where my ex wife asked me 4 times a divorce what I never accepted, and we did continue to fight. When I finally accepted the divorce SHE did not want it anymore.

I lost 4 years of my life as we finally divorced anyhow.

I was in a similar situation. I live in PA, USA

This was what my lawyer told me: If I do not do anything wrong and I do not want a divorce and my spouse files, he (lawyer) could make the marriage lasts for up to two years and he could ask the judge to send us to get marriage counseling.

May I ask why you do not want to get divorce?

You may be able to postpone it for a while, but eventually your spouse will get what they want if they continue to fight it.
