I have been divorced 12 years have a 16 and almost 15 year old. Father haarsly saw kids had felony for child support in 2002 and now owes 25000$ he recently got married and I lost my job of eleven years so they decided to come after me n get my girls. In the end I ran out of money n couldnt fight supposively both girls wanted to live with them so I agrees in devwmber. However in April my youngest was awarded emnergency custody to me due to stepmom was arrested for assault n battery in presence of minor and charged w two DUI s ..dad hasn't called or tried to see her but we go to court Friday and she's scared they are gonna make her go back home to him. Is there anything I can file or can she talk to judge as I can't afford attorney anymore...been seeing counselor court ordered which he hasn't even taken my oldest too like he's suppose to and she said they are evil plotting against me w the. Girls over there but for her to testify its 450$...this is crap if u don't have a lot of money I have to send my daughter to violent home w alcoholic?
Please advise

First, where are you?

Second - who is charging you $450 to testify? The Court-ordered counsellor?

Ask the Court for assistance for the expert fees and legal representation. File the documents and see if you qualify. The Court Clerk should be able to help you.

If the court says they have to go back...they have to go back.

Like it or not..good or bad....they will have the force of law backing them up if you don't send her back. And going to jail to make a point won't do your kids any good.

In the mean time try some of the things JudyKayTee mentioned. It might be a difficult situation...but its not impossible yet.
